This was beautifully written! Thank you for sharing your insights and the research and experiences behind them. I’ve hesitated on sharing some of my work, particularly my recent watercolor paintings, and this is the second message. I’ve read in my email inbox in the last 5 to 10 minutes that indicated (to me) that it’s time to share my work. Keep writing, keep sharing, and feel free to visit my substack as well. I hope to be posting more of my art soon, as I wrap up a long-term music production project.

Thank you so much, Stephanie—that means a lot. When you’re ready, I’d love to see your watercolor work (and your music project sounds exciting too!). I’ll definitely check out your Substack as well.

I have felt this calming many times when looking at art. I feel it more intensely when I am walking in the woods. I am fortunate to live in a house with a pond and trees in my backyard. Staring out the window calms me daily.

Thank you for this article.

That’s beautiful, Lucricia. I actually wrote recently about this very thing—how even a glimpse of sunlight through a window can be good for well-being:

Sounds like you’ve already made it part of your daily rhythm.
